Do you want everyone to know about your favorite show or how you rank animals on a scale of “ew” to “I’d die for you?” Bring some friends & tell us about it in a not weird way at all! Slide decks welcome.

Feel free to present on any topic (silly or academic) during this time. Giving presentations doesn't have to be anxiety-inducing. This is your opportunity to practice public speaking by talking about what you know best!

Douglass Day is an annual program that marks the birth of Frederick Douglass. Join us on Wed. February 14, 2024 for a transcribe-a-thon to help create new & freely available resources for learning about Black history. Learn more about the history of Douglass Day. We will also view the virtual event hosted by the Library of Congress that will run concurrently during our transcribe-a-thon.

Need a brain break? Come learn how to animate in Adobe After Effects using shapes and found images. At the end of our time we’ll compile everyone’s animation into one video to create a collaborative loop. No prior experience required.

Want to make a video for the "Dance your Research" project but unsure how to start, where to get support, or need access to equipment and software? The Tisch Library Digital Design Studio (DDS) is pleased to support this joint venture between SoE and the Dance Program with a workshop on video production, aimed at helping engineers and other researchers get started with using film media for storytelling about their research projects.

ArcGIS StoryMaps is a digital storytelling tool that allows you to combine interactive maps with narrative text, images, and multimedia. With the rise of geographic information systems (GIS), accessible online tools and modes of publication, digital mapping has become a powerful tool for underrepresented and marginalized communities to tell their own stories, resisting colonial narratives and visualizing erased histories. With ArcGIS tools, communities can combine oral histories, archival documents, and interactive tours.
