You can also request scans through JumboSearch by looking up the item you need and clicking "Request Scanned Chapter or Pages," which will take you to the ILLiad request form.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

On average, 1-2 business days.

How much of an item can I have scanned?

It can vary, but copyright guidelines only allow us to scan one or two chapters at most, and no more than 20% of a book’s total number of pages, whichever comes first.

Does the library scan material from books on Reserve?

Tisch Library, Lilly Music Library and SMFA Library are not currently scanning material on Reserve. Please visit the information and circulation desk to borrow Reserves materials in person.

Does the library scan personal copies?

We are unable to make scans from materials that don't belong to the library, but you may use any public scanner in the library to do this yourself.

Can I request scans by phone, e-mail, or in person?

Please request scans through our interlibrary loan (ILL) system, ILLiad. This sends your request to the appropriate staff member, ensures requests are filled in the order received, and helps us gather statistics about our services.
