In-Person Reference & Research Help Now Available

Studying in the library and have a question you want to ask? Need an in-person appointment later in the day? Good news! Erin Ziomek recently joined Tisch Library to provide in-person reference help and basic research consultations. Erin can answer your questions or meet with you from 2:00pm-7:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Erin is located behind the main Information Desk, directly on your left through the main entrance.

Notetaking is an essential part of the research process, but it isnt always clear how to take notes: What should I write down? How much should I write down? How should I organize my notes? How do I move from a collection of notes to a research paper? This workshop will cover best practices in note taking. It will also introduce a few different tools and apps for storing and organizing your notes.

Learn about: • the importance of copyright • how to choose a journal to publish in • open access options • how to evaluate a publisher's contract • how to exercise your rights to use, share, and distribute your work

Artists' books really do come in all shapes and sizes! Join Darin Murphy for a discussion of these wonderfully unique art objects and the many material, formal, and technical elements that go into their creation.

The event will take place in Tisch Library Room 103 on Saturday, October 22nd from 12:00-12:45 pm.

Write Together w/ Tisch Library and the StAAR Center

Undergrads, are you working on a research assignment this fall? Don’t go it alone! Join us in Tisch Library for a 2 hour session dedicated to working on your paper. There will be StAAR Center writing consultants available to help with the writing process, a Tisch librarian available to help with research, and other undergrads working through the research paper process alongside you! Snacks and drinks will be provided.
