Tisch Library serves the School of Arts and Sciences & the School of Engineering at Tufts University. It is located at 35 Professors Row on Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus. Tisch Library is a 20-minute walk from Davis Square, and has paid parking available.
Tisch Library also has two branch libraries that you may wish to visit: Lilly Music Library on the Medford/Somerville campus, and SMFA Library on the Boston SMFA campus.
Using the library
Tisch Library and its branches are open to the public. You are welcome to use our onsite collections and access resources using our public computers.
You are also welcome to use our Ask Us help service via live chat, email or phone. Live chat and phone services may be limited by building hours.
Borrowing items from Tisch Library & branches
While anyone onsite can use our collections and public computers, borrowing an item may not be possible. Borrowing items (such as books, scores, or media) are only open to specific types of visitor accounts. Please check out the account types below for more information.

- Boston Library Consortium (BLC) card holder
- Medford and Somerville teachers
- Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) members
- Retired faculty and staff members
- Immediate family member of a Tufts faculty or staff member
