Retired Tufts faculty and staff members

As a retired Tufts faculty or staff member, you will be able to borrow physical books, DVDs and CDs at Tisch Library and its branches.

Register for a retired faculty or staff account

To register for a retired faculty or staff account, visit the information desk at Tisch Library, or email our Access Services Department

We will verify your status with Tufts HR. Once approved, your library account will be active for five years.

Borrowing materials

As a retired Tufts faculty or staff member, you will be able to check out books and scores for 90 days, and DVDs and CDs for 14 days.

You are responsible for any items checked out using your library account; it is not recommended that you check out materials on someone else's behalf. We are happy to hold items for up to 48 hours if you need to come back with an ID.

Interlibrary loan or database access

Unfortunately, retired Tufts faculty or staff members cannot use our interlibrary loan service. Please check with your local public library for interlibrary loan services.

Retired faculty and staff also cannot access databases (Proquest, JSTOR, etc) or other subscription content (like specific journals) off-campus. However, you may be able to access this content on-site from a library computer, depending on the licensing agreement we have with specific content providers.

If you find that these privileges do not meet your research needs, you may be able to access our databases by becoming an Affiliate scholar or researcher through your department.
