Register for a family member account
One of the perks of working for Tufts University is that you can request limited Tisch Library borrowing privileges for your immediate family. To do so, email our Frontline Services Department from your employee email account to request privileges for your family members. The minimum age for borrowing privileges is 15 years old.
Please provide the following information about the family member in the privilege request email:
- Full name, including any preferred name
- Email address
- Relation to Tufts employee (e.g. child, spouse, parent, etc.)
Privileges are granted for one calendar year and can be extended upon request of the employee. Any financial obligations on a family account may be transferred to the Tufts employee account as needed.
Borrowing materials
Family member accounts can check out books and scores for 28 days, and DVDs and CDs for 14 days. These accounts do not include equipment borrowing privileges.
Interlibrary loan and database access
Unfortunately, family member library privileges do not include Interlibrary Loan. Try contacting your local public library for access to their interlibrary loan services.
Family library privileges do not include off-campus access to subscription content and databases. However, you may be able to access this content on-site from a library computer, depending on the licensing agreement we have with specific providers. Please ask at the Information and Circulation Desk if you have any questions.
