Booking the SMFA Library
The SMFA Library encourages members of our community to use our space in creative ways.
- Please read our policies and guidelines carefully
- Fill out our form to submit a proposal at least three weeks before the proposed date(s)
Library staff will review your request and let you know whether it has been approved. Requests are considered on a first come, first served basis. If the date(s) you have proposed are not available, we will work with you to find alternate dates.
Examples of previous use of the SMFA Library:
- Screenings of film, video, and animation
- Music and sound art performances
- Lectures and artists’ talks
- Poetry readings
- Performance art
- Student club meetings
- Class and group exhibitions
- Solo exhibitions
- Holiday parties
- Community information sessions
- Not all the types of events featured above are currently possible in our space.
Frequently asked questions
Do I use this booking system if I want my class to visit the library or meet with a librarian?
No appointment is necessary for class browsing of the library. If you'd like more in depth instruction for your class that may need library staff or a Research Librarian, see our Request a Class Library Visit page instead.
Can I display art in any space in the library?
At this time, we are not considering exhibitions in our space.
