A professional website is one way of establishing your online scholarly and professional identify. During this interactive workshop, you'll analyze several different websites created by people in disciplines and professions pursued by graduate students at Tufts, then you'll be introduced to a range of website-building platforms appropriate for people at different skill levels. After attending, you'll be prepared to make crucial design decisions (including what platform would work best for you) when creating or updating your own professional website.
During the pandemic, most humanists were limited to searching digitized collections for primary source research. Now more libraries and archives are opening up their special collections readings rooms for on-site research. During this interactive workshop, we'll provide guidance on figuring out what collecting institution to visit, as well as what to know before you go. Then we'll simulate an on-site research visit, including taking pictures of different kinds of materials for your reference long after your visit.
