The Tufts libraries are adding e-books that support antiracist learning. We are updating links as our orders come in, so check back often. And we welcome your suggestions and recommendations for titles to add to the collection.
Drawing from Ibram X. Kendi's "An Antiracist Reading List," we have the following books available online:
- West Indian Immigrants: A Black Success Story? by Suzanne Model
- The Condemnation of Blackness: Race, Crime, and the Making of Modern Urban America by Khalil Gibran Muhammad
- The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
- The Blacker the Berry by Wallace Thurman
- Autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X and Alex Haley
- Black Marxism: The Making of the Black Radical Tradition by Cedric J. Robinson
- How We Get Free: Feminism and the Combahee River Collective by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor
- Well-Read Black Girl: Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves by Glory Edim
- Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love & So Much by Janet Mock
- Sister Outsider: Essays and Speeches by Audre Lorde
In addition to the titles recommended by Ibram X. Kendi, we have added e-book versions of books we put on display in Tisch Library back in 2017 in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter and from an exhibit we put up after the 2016 election with resources related to resistance and struggle.
You should also check out the list of "Anti Racism Resources" adapted for the Tufts community, which includes podcasts, articles, films, books, and social media accounts to follow.
