Music Library Special Collections

Lilly Music Library has a variety of unique items, including facsimile scores reproduced from original manuscript sources or early editions; music memorabilia/boxed sets; and special editions.

Here is just a sampling of what you might find:

• 14th century Italian part songs in Il Codice Squarcialupi: Ms. Mediceo Palatino 87, Biblioteca Laurenziana Di Firenze (facsimile)

• Chansonnier de Jean de Montchenu (heart-shaped, facsimile)

• Early Tudor music in The Eton Choirbook (facsimile)

• John Cage's Indeterminacy: Ninety Stories (score on cards)

• Radiohead's OK computer: Oknotok 1997 2017 (boxed set)

Music Collections at Tisch Library

Tisch Library houses a number of music special collections, most notably the Frédéric Louis Ritter Collection, as well as archival collections located in the Tufts Archival Research Center (TARC), including composer T. J. Anderson's Papers, 1889-2019, a sheet music collection by Tufts composers (1883 - 1943), and composer John McDonald's papers.
