Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

Our Interlibrary Loan service enables Tufts students, faculty, and staff to borrow materials from libraries worldwide.

Borrowing Items through Interlibrary Loan

If you need an item that is not available at a Tufts library, you can submit a request using the Interlibrary Loan application, ILLiad

You'll be able to view the status of your request in your ILLiad account. Once the item has been received at Tisch, you'll receive an email notification. Come to the Tisch Library Main Desk to borrow your material.

How long can I keep the material I borrowed through Interlibrary Loan?

It depends. The lending library decides when the book needs to be returned.

Scan & Deliver

Our Scan & Deliver service provides scans of book chapters or articles from material in the Tisch Library, Lilly Music Library, or SMFA Library collections. You'll receive a searchable, OCR-compliant PDF delivered directly to your ILLiad account.

Scans expire, so download or print your PDF to continue accessing the material.
