Patterns in motion: video editing as a tool for inquiry

Video editing tools are frequently used to create a final product such as a documentary, a narrative film, or a visual podcast, to name a few.  How might we use video editing tools and strategies to help generate questions around a topic instead?  In this workshop we will explore building curiosity through playful engagement with videos available online in digital collections.  Through editing strategies of duplication, juxtaposition, repetition, scale, and speed we will consider how creative methods can be used to see the material in new ways, generate questions and find patterns.

No prior video editing experience is needed - learning editing tools will by a by-product of our curiosity and exploration of the material. If you don’t have an Adobe account, create one on the Adobe Account page using a personal email address.
