National Handwriting Day with Special Collections

Join Special Collections for a celebration of National Handwriting Day, the anniversary of John Hancock's birth, next Monday, January 23rd. We will have manuscripts and early printed books on display, as well as a place for you to sit down and try your hand at writing with a quill or fountain pen, or transcribing medieval and early modern texts. A flyer is attached. (Don't worry- the handwriting samples won't all be that difficult to read!)

Our classroom, Tisch Library Room 103, will be open from 12:00–5:45 pm, with the option to sit in on Professor Jennifer Eyl's class for a lecture on scribal practice beginning at 4:30 pm.

We look forward to seeing you there!
