Visitor accounts

If you are not officially connected to Tufts, you can purchase a Visitor account for Tisch Library borrowing library privileges. As a Visitor account holder, you will be able to borrow physical books, scores, DVDs, CDs, government documents, and other items in the main collections of Tisch Library and its branches.

Apply for a Visitor account

Visit the Information and Circulation Desk at Tisch Library Monday through Friday between 9am and 4pm to apply for a Visitor account.

Cost of membership

A Visitor account costs $150 for six months or $200 for one year.  You can pay by cash or check.

Borrowing materials

As a Visitor, you will be able to check out books and scores for 28 days, and DVDs and CDs for 14 days.

We are happy to hold items for up to 48 hours if you need to come back with an ID.

Interlibrary loan and database access

Unfortunately, Visitors cannot use our interlibrary loan service. Please check with your local public library for interlibrary loan services.

Visitors cannot access databases (Proquest, JSTOR, etc) or other subscription content (like specific journals) off-campus. However, Visitors may be able to access this content on-site from a library computer, depending on the licensing agreement we have with specific content providers.
