Join us for a hands-on workshop connecting the historical craft of stamp making in Asian cultures – especially prominent in stone and wood carvings for seals or decorative arts in China, Japan, and Southeast Asia – to modern patterns and technologies.
In this workshop, led by Briana Chen A'29, participants will explore the histories and practice of Asian patterns in block printmaking, learn to make their own stamp pattern in Adobe Illustrator, and see how a laser engraver can bring their design to life. All are welcome to attend.
This workshop is part of the DDS Community Skillshare series. For this series, students from across Tufts University are invited to teach a digital media skill to the campus, with support provided by DDS staff to design the workshop. For more information, or to apply to teach a DDS Community Skillshare workshop in a future semester, please reach out at TischDDS@tufts.edu.
