Library Carpentry focuses on empowering people in library and information fields to use software and data in their own work and to become advocates for and train others in efficient, effective, and reproducible data and software practice. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. For more information on what we teach and why, please see our paper "Best Practices for Scientific Computing".
Workshop Schedule: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A more detailed schedule can be found on the event website.
When: October 21, 2024 and October 28, 2024.
Requirements: Participants must have access to a computer with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed (Setup).
