Hot off the press as early as five centuries ago, many of these volumes represent key contributions to art, literature, history, and science, yet they continue to spark new interpretations and resonate with readers and students today. The following titles comprise a selection of the latest arrivals to Special Collections and span the 16th to 20th century. These volumes extend across the geographies of Early Modern Italy to the American colonies, to Edo Japan, exemplifying the breadth of our collecting areas which support research, teaching, and creative practices across the fields of Art History, Classics, History, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, and at the SMFA.
