Introduction to Research Concepts (15-60 min)

This self-guided asynchronous Canvas course helps students gain confidence with the research process. They will develop the foundational research skills needed to find, evaluate, and use information effectively in their coursework. Instructors can assign the complete self-paced Canvas course or work with a librarian to customize content for their discipline.

Introduction to Research & Information Literacy

Students enrolled in First Year Writing are required to participate in the library's information literacy program. The program includes an asynchronous Canvas course (40-60 minutes) and a librarian-led instructional session (75 minutes) that teach students how to identify, locate, evaluate, and apply information effectively. These skills support research papers and other course assignments while also preparing students to navigate information analytically and ethically in academic, professional, and everyday contexts, including AI and algorithmic literacy.
