Advanced Classical Studies Research Tools (60 mins)
Students will take their Classical Studies research to the next level by learning advanced search and discovery techniques in L’Année Philologique, Perseus, TLL, and TLG. Recommended for students with prior research experience who want to maximize the potential of these core disciplinary resources.
Beyond the Basics: Legal Research Strategies and Sources (60-75 mins)
The session strengthens students' legal research expertise by mastering search techniques and key legal resources. This workshop focuses on finding and analyzing cases, statutes, regulations, and law review literature, with an emphasis on evaluating legal authority and using legal sources as evidence in scholarly work.
Introduction to LabArchives: Electronic Lab Notebooks (60 mins)
Students will be introduced to the primary features of LabArchives, the electronic lab notebook supported by Tufts. Students will learn best practices for safekeeping scientific data, writing good documentation, and organizing their data.
Version Control: Introduction to Git & GitHub Desktop (60 min)
Version control is a way to record and keep track of the changes made to a file over time. GitHub Desktop is a software that make it easy to use the version control system git, without any background in coding. Keeping track of versions with git can be important when creating large projects that include many files or complicated structures. In this lesson, students will learn about version control and the basics of git, using the GitHub Desktop app. No coding experience required.

Advanced Historical Research (60-75 mins)
Students will build expertise in locating, evaluating, and working with primary sources across archival, newspaper, and digital collections to support advanced historical inquiry.
Community-Engaged Research: Ethical, Inclusive, and Collaborative Research Practices (60-75 mins)
Students will learn how community-engaged research (CEnR) fosters ethical, inclusive, and impactful scholarship through collaboration with community partners. Students will explore stakeholder engagement, power dynamics, and strategies for centering community perspectives while developing research practices that promote equity, accountability, and meaningful outcomes.
Evidence Synthesis and Systematic Searching (60-75 mins)
Students will build advanced evidence synthesis skills by learning how to design, document, and evaluate systematic literature searches. Students will refine research questions, select appropriate databases and sources, and develop structured search strategies for systematic reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analyses, and other discipline-specific review methodologies.
Mapping Scholarly Conversations (60-75 mins)
Students will get beyond keyword searching to discover who is shaping research in your field. Learn to track citations, analyze an author's scholarly contributions, find book reviews, and identify major debates and emerging trends in the literature. Recommended for students who are already comfortable with basic research skills.
