The W. Van Alan Clark Jr. Library is located on the third floor of the Boston SMFA campus, at 230 The Fenway, Boston, MA 02115.
Getting to the SMFA
The entrance to the SMFA at Tufts is marked by a large rhino sculpture, made by alumna Katharine Lane Weems.
Parking is limited at the SMFA and fills up quickly. We encourage visitors to take advantage of the MBTA, Boston’s public transportation system, if traveling to the SMFA from the Boston area.
Parking options
- Parking rates for the Museum Rd Garage, the Huntington Lot, and the Fenway Lot.
- There is also limited metered parking on Museum Rd.
Subway directions
- Take the Green Line E train to the Museum of Fine Arts stop
- Head northeast on Huntington toward Museum Rd
- Turn left onto Museum Rd
- Turn left on The Fenway
- The SMFA building is on the left
OR:
- Take the Orange Line to the Ruggles stop
- Exit the train station and turn right on Ruggles St toward Albert St
- Ruggles St will become Louis Prang St
- Turn right on The Fenway
- The SMFA building is on the right
Bus directions
- Take the 39 bus to the Louis Prang St. stop outbound, or the Ruggles St. stop inbound.
- Head towards Louis Prang St.
- Turn left onto Louis Prang St.
- Turn right on The Fenway
- The SMFA building is on the right
OR:
- Take the 8, 47, or CT2 buses to the Ruggles stop
- Follow Ruggles St toward Albert St
- Ruggles St will become Louis Prang St
- Turn right on The Fenway
- The SMFA building is on the right
From the Tufts Medford Campus
Visitors can take the SMFA shuttle, which has stops at the Aidekman Arts Center (40 Talbot Ave, Medford, MA 02155) and the SMFA building.
