Hathi Trust provides access to our print book collection

*** The Hathi Trust Emergency Temporary Access Program is concluding as of 9/18.  See: for more details. ****

Hathi Trust has turned on the ability for us to read e-book copies of close to 45% of the print book collection at the Tufts Libraries through the Hathi Trust Emergency Temporary Access Service.

While we work to add more information to JumboSearch about exactly which books this covers, you can check to see if a given book we own in print is available digitally for you to read.

1. Visit and log in via the Tufts institutional access.

2. If it's one of the titles they can provide us access to, you'll see a link that says "Temporary Access."  Click on "Temporary Access."

3. You will see a yellow banner that says, "Access to this work is provided through the Emergency Temporary Access Service."  Click the button that says "Check Out."

4. You have read-only access to that book for the next 60 minutes.  If you don't need the book any longer, you can click: "Return Early."  The yellow banner will tell you how much longer you can read the book.  If there is not someone waiting to access the book, and you are actively reading it, the system will automatically extend your check out period for another 60 minutes.

Check out Hathi's FAQs for the service.  Or you can Ask a Librarian for assistance.
