Remote Access to Library Resources

The library’s collection of databases, electronic journals, ebooks, and digitized primary sources are available remotely to Tufts current students, faculty, and staff from anywhere in the world.

There are two options to access resources remotely:

  1. Follow links to databases, journals, and books through the library systems.

If you follow a link from JumboSearch, through our A-Z list of Databases, or via our Research Guides, it is already configured to go through our Proxy Server. When you’re on-campus, that should take you right into the resource. When you’re off-campus, that will take you to an authentication page first, then into the resource once you log in.

  1. Alternatively, or if you have difficulty with any links, use the Tufts Virtual Private Network.

Install the VPN (Virtual Private Network) AnyConnect application from Tufts Technology Services. Once installed and logged in, this will allow you to access library resources (as well as other Tufts on-campus-only resources) as if you were physically on campus.
