"Victorious Secret"

a tryptich depicting a woman's torso in a "bikini" as well as an ancient athletic instrument, a crown, and a palm of victory made of coloured buttons and hairpins attached to a faux-cement background with a metal frame.

This fall, Tisch Library will be serving as the 11th host of the mosaic installation, Victorious Secret: Noticing Elite Sports for Women, 300 A.D., created in 2012-2013 by visual artist Angela Lorenz. In conjuction with the exhibition, Tisch & the SMFA are hosting a panel discussion featuring Lorenz; Marie-Claire Beaulieu, Tufts Assistant Professor of Classics; and Julie Flaherty, senior writer in Tufts’ Office of Communications and editor of Tufts Nutrition, during Tufts Parents and Family Weekend. “Victorious Secret: Women Athletes in Ancient and Modern Times” will take place on Saturday, October 20th, from 12:30-2:00 pm in Tisch Library's Hirsh Reading Room.
